Rehearsal Diary

3 weeks to go...

“3 weeks and it couldn’t be worse...” - nah, just kidding!

No energy has been spared this week! Director, Andrew CP, reminiscent of a prize fight boxing coach has been blocking battle scenes worthy of a Rocky sequel. Stars, Fred and Lilli (Simon Stone and Naomi Mole) have been fighting with moves rarely seen outside of a Mexican wrestling match! Their well-timed antics will have audiences gasping and on the edge of their seats. [Note: So far only one injury has been reported and the doctors were able to save Fred’s thumb]

Choreography has continued to keep our cast panting with choreographer, Jaime Watt, putting them through their paces with a fast moving action packed opening number. Special mention to Paul (Patrick Phillips) who reaches new heights in this number and Hattie (Freya Haywood) for driving vocals!

General Harrison Howell (George Pulley), a military man with a gift for stealing the spotlight, has been proving how versatile he is as he serenades his fiancé Lilli and leaves her questioning her love for Fred. Combine this with a surprising knowledge of tap dancing and you will be left wondering - who will Lilli choose? and what do they actually teach them in the army?

Props are also sneaking into the scenes and our cast are making full use of them. You never knew furniture and flowers could be so versatile! Our vicious but hilarious gangsters (Terri Woodfine and Nicola Barrett) have been satisfying their trigger fingers with their new guns and working on their target shooting. Lilli (Naomi Mole) has also been working on hitting her targets (namely our male cast members) with surprising force with whatever weapons come to hand - although her aim still needs some work!

With the release of our publicity photos only moments away the anticipation is growing at an alarming rate!

If you have not yet bought your tickets - do it now!
